Busy Birthday Weekend
This was a very busy weekend. I had a lot to get done at the first half of the weekend and then was able to relax and just enjoy the rest of it. I was very proud of myself for having the drive and will to follow through and get up early on Saturday to get some errands done. I had to drop off some forms with some of my former employers in hopes of getting everything processed for this new job opportunity. Saturday was also Renegade’s 8th birthday. He came along with us and got to visit with his old friends. He does know all of the people we were visiting after all. Adam came with us as well. We paused in the middle to do a little birthday shopping and visit with some old coworkers as well. The final stop was to visit with some furry friends and romp around in the yard. They had an absolute blast. They ran around and wrestled and jumped through the pond. They rolled through the dirt and were just dogs. I had brought some doggie “pup cakes” which they all enjoyed. The first part of or visit only included the two boxer girls. Jake had to stay inside. We had learned in the past that while Jake and Renegade tend to do okay on their own together, throwing them in a group together can be a bit chaotic. We did deliver his special treat into the house for Jake and decided now that at least three of them had their wiggles out we could go for a walk. We had jake join us and went for a wonderful walk through the forest preserve near by. We all had a wonderful time. When we got back, we worked a little bit on letting all the dogs play together. Slowly they are getting better at it.
The rest of the weekend I spent with Adam. We hung out with friends in the evenings playing cards or going out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. The rest of the time we spent snuggled up with Mr. Renegade watching movies and playing with his new birthday toys.
